The Reality of 2016 Olympic City Rio de Janeiro (12 pics + 1 video)

Posted in PICTURES       1 Mar 2010       17613
This is the reality of suburbs and slums of the city which will host Olympics in 2016.
As you can see from these pictures, the dark side of this beautiful city is shown. The police have long ago lost any control in these areas. Now it is drug dealers and criminal groups who are reigning there. Apart from adult drug addicts, you can also see children wandering the streets looking for crack or other drugs.
Very sad reality…

If you happen to be walking down the street in London and suddenly see a huge cave in front of your feet probably a pavement artist like Edgar Muller is around somewhere. Edgar paints incredible illusion paintings on streets so they look like real caves.

A Very Expensive Boneyard (7 pics)

The base in these photos is home to the 309th Aerospace Maintenance And Regeneration Group (309 AMARG) which repairs some of the aircraft and even gets some of them flying again. Electronics, wiring, munitions, and engines are all recycled to help reduce the cost of maintaining today’s fleet. The U.S. government even allows the military in other countries to buy parts and planes from the site. The facility is the size of 1,300 football fields. The desert is a perfect place to store the mass of steel, because the small amount of rainfall means low humidity which means very little rust occurs.

The owners of the vehicles in these photos have some ridiculously real problems. How these vehicles got in these predicaments is beyond me and anyone’s guess but it is going to take some real effort on somebody’s part to get them fixed.

How Many Wreckers Does It Take To Get One Motor Home Unstuck? (8 pics)

Posted in       1 Mar 2010       8484
During SpeedWeek in 2007 a motor home got stuck in the salt. A small yellow wrecker came for a rescue and also got stuck. Next, a large yellow wrecker tried to pull them out and also got stuck. Then a large blue wrecker came to help but also got stuck. One motor home and three wreckers had to spent night stuck in the salt until they were rescued the next morning.

A Wild and Crazy Guy (12 pics)

Bill Thomas is what Steve Martin would call a “Wild and Crazy Guy”. It would appear from these photos that he is trying to find new and clever ways to commit suicide. While some of the methods do seem clever and ingenious, we’re not too sure how effective they would be.

The Man Who Hates Barbers (6 pics)

I think it is fair to say that the old Asian gentleman in these photos doesn’t care for barbers. At least one could draw that conclusion from his head of hair which appears not to have been cut for what looks like about 20 years.

In these Gap ads in Vancouver all the logos, mannequins, signs, and even cars in the parking lot near the store are turned upside down. The idea belongs to the advertising agency Cossette West, and a slogan reads: “Shopping turned on its head”.

I always though of Australia as a great destination to catch some waves and have the rest of your life… The only thing is with all these dangerous animals that inhabits the “promised vacation land”, you should be very careful where you put your foot whenever you are near the coral reefs of coastal Australia, so that this wouldn’t become a “rest in peace vacation” ;)

As can be seen from these photos following the end of the war in the Battle of Stalingrad there is nothing left but wreckage. The carnage left behind after a war is nearly unfathomable. It is more than just man’s inhumanity to man, it is also man’s inhumanity to the planet.

If you thought that wild deer were skittish and afraid of human contact, you need to take a look at these photos. Clearly this deer, at least, is not afraid of human, or dog, contact. Unlike other wild animals, there is something graceful and noble about a deer. It really is a magical animal.
